Mirror acrylic sheet is a synthetic material.
Its main raw material is methyl methacrylate (MMA) monomer. Through polymerization, it becomes polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA), the base of acrylic sheets, providing good optical properties.
MMA monomers polymerize via bulk or suspension methods. Then, the polymerized PMMA forms sheets by extrusion or casting. Finally, a metal (e.g., aluminum) or metal - like compound is coated on one side, often by vacuum deposition or electroplating, to create the mirror effect.
Mirror acrylic sheet combines acrylic's advantages like being lightweight and impact - resistant with mirror - like reflectivity, seeing wide use in decoration, advertising, etc.
